Visual Chore Cards: for Indoor & Outdoor Chores
This pack includes visual chore cards for both indoor and outdoor chores for all ages! Not only that, you’ll find Days of the Week Cards as well as EIGHT editable name cards.
There are a couple of ways these could be displayed. You can hole-punch your cards and attach them to a ring. This allows you to hang the visual chore cards on a hook. You could hang a set for each child each week. Days of the week cards or name cards could be added to the front of each “deck” so your kids know who needs to do which chores.
If you just have one child, you could use a simple pocket chart like this one. Use the name cards or days of the week cards at the top of your child’s chores.
If you have multiple children, you might want a wider pocket chart, like this one. Type your kids’ names on the editable name cards or use the days of the week cards, and display them at the top of the pocket chart.

Should Kids Get Paid for Chores?
While this is a personal decision for each family, our kids do. BUT {and this is a big but}, they only get paid for certain chores. For example, brushing your teeth isn’t something they get paid to do. This is an “expected chore.” If they want to get paid for the extra chores, they must do the expected chores first.
Another thing to factor in is how much do you pay for chores? We have a chore hierarchy. For example, taking the clothes out of the dryer is a low-paying chore while dusting an entire room is a higher paying chore.
For us, paying our kids for chores has provided many teachable moments that would be difficult to teach otherwise. They are learning how to save for what they want, give to others in need, the art of contentment, and bargain shopping. So chores have been a win-win in our home!
